Texas Health and Human Services has hundreds of programs and services that help more than 7 million Texans a month live better lives, and it’s our strong foundation of dedicated people who make it happen every single day.


•Research current efforts, including volunteerism, in communities
•Assess current partnerships and identify new potential partners for outreach
•Develop a strong volunteer recruitment and training program
•Develop regional plans and committees
•Provide training to community members and professionals
•Coordinate and facilitate meetings with partner organizations
•Spearhead regional events
•Collaborate with community professionals and agency staff to increase access to health and wellness activities and resources for seniors and persons with a disability
•Create and implement a sustainability plan


Are you a self-starter, who asks questions, expresses their needs, and communicates well? Dive into the world of aging services! As an Age Well Live Well VISTA Member, you will serve as a catalyst for change. You will work with community members to advance local solutions for local challenges. You can gain experience in public health, partnership building, and community engagement.

•You must have access to reliable transportation and have a clean driving record
•Your hours may include some early mornings, nights, and weekend
