Duties

The HCAAA Age Well Live Well VISTA Member will advance and promote Age Well Live Well throughout Harris County by developing and implementing plans for engaging new and existing partnerships, developing and enhancing volunteer recruitment and encouraging community awareness about health and wellness among older adults.

The member will gain an understanding of the critical issues and current developments in the aging and disability community. The member will also develop a broad understanding of the wide array of programs and services offered through the HHD. Opportunities for travel, conferences, networking and training will be provided.

Qualifications

Successful applicants will have:
• A minimum of two years of responsible, professional experience, preferably in the field of health, social services or public service.
• Familiarity and competency using Microsoft office programs.
• Some public speaking experience.
• Some basic grant writing experience.

Salary

Living Stipend + Choice of Education Award or End of Service Stipend
