Theses positions are assigned to the USDA-Forest Service Albuquerque Service Center, Human Resources Management Staff (ASC-HRM), and supports HR Management Staff for an assigned Human Resources program. The Human Resources Management Staff is responsible for planning, organizing and leading a positive management-oriented human capital management program for a workforce consisting of approximately 30,000 permanent employees and 15,000 seasonal employees.

Duties

Provides administrative support to the Human Resource Supervisor and Human Resource Team members as assigned. Has access to restricted Human Resource Information Systems to run and obtain data and reports as requested by the Human Resource Supervisor and/or Human Resource Team members and as such, has access to Personal Identifiable Information (PII) of Forest Service employees and is responsible to keep all information confidential, secure and protected at all times.
Responds to information requests on topics related to the Human Resource mission, products, or services of the unit/staff. Explains resources, services, and administrative processes to Human Resource Supervisors and Human Resource Team members using the appropriate form(s) and/or making appropriate referrals following established procedures. Inquiries may come by telephone, personal visit, or written correspondence.

Serves as the administrative business process point of contact for the Human Resource Supervisor and Human Resource Team members which may include Staffing, Labor Relations, Classification and other Human Resources related work. Responsible for the administrative oversight of various business processes, which may include processing financial, procurement, property, personnel, and other administrative instruments for the unit/staff.

Provides training and advisory services to the Human Resource Supervisor and Human Resource Team members in all program administrative procedures

Qualifications

The positions may be offered at grades 05, 06, or 07; starting grade depends on level and complexity of of specialized administrative experience. A bachelors degree in any academic area is a GS-05 qualification. 12 Months of administrative experience is required for starting grades GS-06 or GS-07.

Three potential posistions assigned to HRM's National Talent Aquisition (NTA) program area. 1) Strategic Recruitment & Hiring; 2) National Fire & Aviation hiring team; 3) National Temporary Employment hiring team. Reports to the Senior Staff Assistant for NTA and an HR Branch Chief.

Compensation:

GS-05/1: $35,487 per year
GS-06/1: $39,558 per year
GS-07/1: $43,958 per year

Annual promotions up to GS-07, annual step increases every year for three years after reaching GS-07. Periodic step increases after that point. Annual cost of living increases each January as determined by Congress and the President. Full benefits from start date to include heathcare and life insurance options, and a dual reirement system; defined benefit pension (FERS) AND defined contribution plan (TSP) with up to 5% employer match.
