Duties

Goal of the Project: Increase the academic performance and interest in postsecondary
education as well as prepare underrepresented communities for meaningful careers.

The VISTA will develop a robust volunteer program for the AARP Third Grade Reading Program.

Implement fundraising strategies designed to fully fund the AARP Third Grade Reading Program for two years. Our goal is to make the program sustainable by spreading the burden among the greatest number of long-term funders.

Implement targeted marketing and outreach efforts for Achieve Pinal to show how the program is
increasing the overall educational attainment of the City’s children, particularly its impoverished population.

Implement AARP’s program data collection measures which have been proven to demonstrate program success and help insure sustainability.

Qualifications

Prefer six months of job experience in a professional setting where applicant was highly motivated to meet the goals of the organization. Must be able to work effectively with volunteers, donors, Achieve Pinal staff and advisory board members and city staff.
• Must be well versed in Google Docs and Microsoft: Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Experience with Zoom preferable.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires the possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate valid driver's license.
• Requires the possession of, or ability to obtain a Class One Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Department of Public Safety. The program will cover the cost of obtaining a Fingerprint Clearance Card
