About the Role:
The Accounting Associate is responsible for supporting the organization's expanding Budgeting, Accounts Receivable, Cash Reporting, Analysis and Accounting functions. We're seeking an individual who is organized, detail oriented, flexible and a good communicator.

A seasoned and enthusiastic individual who can impress us with hands-on budget and accounting experience, superior organizational abilities, Excel prowess and the ability to think beyond task orientation. Naturally our ideal candidate has a strong attention to detail and consistent accuracy in work product, and has exceptional customer service skills.

What the Role Entails:
As an integral part of our collaborative team, the Accounting Associate's responsibilities include departmental and project budget support, general ledger reporting/analysis, cash reporting and day-to-day accounting and period-end close needs.

-Support the CFO as the budget liaison to each department;
-Coordinate the building of budgets to support project budgets for grant applications and fee opportunities;
-Coordinate the Accounts Receivable and cash receipts/reporting functions;
-Provide analysis of general ledger transactions based on a variety of expense, income and timing queries;
-Support the department with assigned month-end close responsibilities;
-Prepare ad-hoc reports;
-Perform other duties, as assigned


Degree in related field;
Three years front-line Accounting and Budgeting experience in an entrepreneurial organization with 40+ employees;
Strong and significant Accounts Receivable and Cash Reporting experience;
Knowledge of and experience working within a dual-entry, automated accounting system;
Experience building, maintaining, updating and communicating organizational and departmental budgets;
Experience with month-end and period-end accounting closes
Proficient with MS Office, Oracle NetSuite, Financial Edge (Blackbaud), bill (AP system), and Salesforce a plus;
Non-profit experience a plus
