Rivendell Academy is a small 7th-12th grade school located in the picturesque Connecticut River Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire. Rivendell Academy is seeking a dynamic math teacher and middle school team member. The position involves teaching a 7th grade pre-algebra class and algebra fundamentals in 8th grade. Both courses follow the structure of the Common Core. The position involves collaboration with the 9th grade algebra teacher. Rivendell places a strong emphasis on strong relationships with students and professional collaboration. The position also involves leading an advisory. We are looking for a candidate who LOVES the uniqueness of middle school students.

Teaching at Rivendell Academy offers an exciting opportunity for anyone with the energy and creativity necessary to teach in a dynamic program reflective of our commitment to 1) rigorous projects, 2) the development of high quality, engaging materials, 3) differentiated instruction, and 4) collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking and leaning. Our buildings house three large maker space labs, a digital media lab, two gyms, a multi-purpose room suitable for student exhibitions and presentations, and ample opportunities for outdoor education.


Candidates must be certified in Vermont or New Hampshire with subject specific credentials in math. Candidates without certification but outstanding knowledge and achievement in their field may be hired but must pursue licensure through a state alternative certification pathway.
