As a result, 92% of our students are considered low-income and 50% are classified as English-Learners. After 10 years, our model is beginning to see results: 85% of the ACE High School Class of 2016 have persisted in college. - Maintain the unwavering belief in the extraordinary potential of every student.
- Maintain a growth mindset with all stakeholders.
- Build authentic relationships with students by serving as a mentor; consistently reinforce the belief that all students have the capacity to be successful through college.
- Build authentic relationships with families through school events, phone calls and conferences.
- Facilitate students’ mastery of academic standards through long-term planning, daily and weekly lesson plans, and execution of rigorous and engaging daily instruction.
- Collaborate with ACE Learning Specialists to support a full-inclusion model of Special Education to the greatest extent possible..
- Create a warm yet firm classroom culture through consistent implementation of behavior ladders.
- Celebrate student growth, as well as proficiency
- Host office hours for students twice weekly (and as needed).
- Consistently integrate coaching feedback.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with all stakeholders.
- Approach professional development (training, observations, coaching and feedback) with commitment and reflection.

This role reports to the schools principal.



- Teaching experience in San Jose or a community of similar demographics.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including ELs and students with disabilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred, but not required.


- Bachelor’s Degree
- Valid California State Teaching Credential or equivalent and transferable teaching license from another state
- Intern credential accepted
- We are prepared to consider qualified candidates with the intent to enroll in an intern credential program.
