Environmental Protection Specialist or Program Analyst

About Environmental Protection Agency - Indoor Environments Division

EPA’s Office of Radiation and Indoor Air is offering several new opportunities in the Indoor Environments Division (IED). IED is seeking dynamic and self-directed individuals to engage in developing and driving science, policy, and action on indoor air quality (IAQ) and related human health issues. IED’s mission is to protect the public and the environment from indoor air pollution. IED coordinates across EPA and with other federal, state, tribal and NGOs to carry out its mission. IED develops guidance, policies, and programs that are aimed at controlling exposure to indoor air pollutants. Specifically, IED develops information and science-based analysis to advance knowledge of the risks, public health benefits, public and private costs, and intervention strategies on radon and other IAQ issues.

Duties

Duties may include but are not limited to serving as a programmatic specialist on one or more of IED’s indoor air quality program priority areas and developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external partners and stakeholders. IED’s current program priority areas include: • Radon • Indoor asthma triggers • Indoor particulate matter • Indoor biological contaminants • Secondhand Smoke • Comprehensive IAQ improvements in homes and schools • Indoor airPLUS new homes labeling program • IAQ in Emergency Preparedness, Response and Recovery • Clean cookstoves and fuels in developing nations

Qualifications

All candidates who want to be considered MUST have NONCOMPETITIVE ELIGIBILITY (NCE) and a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Submit documentation of NCE extension if your Close of Service was more than 250 days prior to the date of application.
