Peace Corps Honors the Life of Returned Volunteer Anita Datar
The Peace Corps community mourns the loss of returned Volunteer Anita Datar, who was killed in the Radisson Blu Hotel in Bamako, Mali on November 20, 2015. Anita lived a life of service to others, including her service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Senegal in the late 1990’s.
“We lost a beloved member of the Peace Corps family, and we deeply honor and respect her life of service,” Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet said. “As we grieve her loss, we give thanks for everything Anita Datar gave to the Peace Corps and her communities of service in Senegal and beyond. Our sincere condolences are with her family.”
