There are more than 235 Volunteers in Mozambique working with their communities on projects in education and health. During their service in Mozambique, Volunteers learn to speak local languages, including Portuguese, Cichangana, Citswa, Citewe, Nhungue, Emakwa, Chichewa, Echuabo, and Yaho. More than 1,190 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Mozambique since the program was established in 1998.
