Lesotho

Director's Welcome
Lumelang Bo-‘M’e le Bo-Ntate,
What motivates you to join the Peace Corps? And what is special about Peace Corps Lesotho?
Known as The Kingdom in the Sky, Lesotho is a stunningly beautiful country of mountains, waterfalls and vast vistas of field and plains, with a rich culture, proud history, and warm, friendly people.
Established in 1967, Peace Corps Lesotho has a wonderful history of being one of the longest running programs on the continent with a legacy of more than 2,500 Americans who have had the privilege of living and serving the people of the Mountain Kingdom. Close collaboration between the Government of Lesotho and the Peace Corps informs the work that Peace Corps Volunteers and their community members focus on; locally-prioritized projects that build relationships, promote knowledge exchange, and make a lasting and measurable impact.
Peace Corps Lesotho is a mosaic of passionate and committed staff, Volunteers, and stakeholders. We create a culture that continuously embraces and nurtures talent and diversity. We pride ourselves in providing appropriate support and a conducive environment where work and family life thrive together.
Like our mighty waterfalls made up of many tributaries, our respect and care for each other is our strength in building the Basotho capacity to improve our lives. We are the ambassadors of Peace and Friendship.
Khotso, Pula, Nala!
Peace, Rain, Prosperity!
