Director's Welcome

Lumelang Bo-‘M’e le Bo-Ntate

(Greetings, ladies and gentlemen):

It is wonderful that you are visiting our website, interested in learning about the Peace Corps in Lesotho. We have the history of being one of the longest running programs on the continent. The legacy of more than 2,500 Americans who have had the privilege of serving in the country since 1967 has established a strong reputation for collaborative work and cross-cultural learning. Peace Corps/Lesotho strives to respond to challenging needs in communities throughout the country, making good use of the skills, creativity, and training of Peace Corps Volunteers and their local counterparts. This partnership helps the people of Lesotho to achieve goals upon which the government of Lesotho and the Peace Corps have agreed. Lesotho is a stunningly beautiful country with a rich culture, proud history, and warm, friendly people. Like the Peace Corps Volunteers and staff in Lesotho, I hope you will enjoy what you see on our website, and it would be a pleasure to welcome you to the Mountain Kingdom!
