By Cody Meek - Peace Corps Volunteer, Ethiopia (2013 - 2015)
Constituting dreams
Across time and space
To spark silly smiles
On every child’s face
For a mothers embrace
For a fathers support
Imparting our knowledge
Direct, to the source
An obstacle course
We traverse foreign lands
And holding your hand
It fits like a glove
This is the Peace Corps…
The toughest job you’ll ever love
This poem was entered in the Volunteer category for the 2015 Peace Corps Poetry Contest. The contest received more than 1,000 submissions, representing over 50 years of Peace Corps service in more than 100 countries.
