About this program

Public health is one of the fastest growing and most exciting fields of study. A quick glance at the news provides a good indication of the challenges facing communities around the world—including here in Missouri—and the opportunities to bring about real change through improvements in public health. Graduate students in public health come from a wide variety of disciplines, including communication, social work, political science and veterinary medicine. Peace Corps Fellows will have the opportunity to apply their experiences from around the world to this interdisciplinary education and develop a career that will help them help their world.

Internship

MPH Peace Corps Fellows will have the opportunity to choose internships with rural Missouri health departments, Refugee and Immigrant Services, City of Refuge, Centro Latino, Refugee and Immigrant Services with Department of Child Health, Central Missouri Foster Care and Adoption Services, Missouri Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence, Boone County Health Department, Central Missouri Community Action, and the Department of Health and Human Services
