Pennsylvania State University - University Park - Smeal College of Business

About this program

At the Penn State Smeal College of Business, we develop lifelong partnerships by inspiring learning and fostering connections. Here at Smeal, we believe the measure of a businessperson is the ability and ambition to grow -- to get better -- and as a result, to make their organization, community, and world better. So much of your success as a leader depends on what you know (the skills and experience you acquire in college and your career) and what you do (the analyses you perform and the decisions you make day to day). Equally important, however, is who you have around you from the start. We are your best partner for that.

The Smeal College of Business delivers professional graduate programs that you can earn in a year or less that will prepare you to make an immediate impact in the world through rigorous curriculum, experiential learning, and a community of 92,000+ Smeal alumni – and more than 760,000 Penn Staters – ready to open doors, offer advice and cheer you on.

Connect with Smeal to learn about our one-year graduate programs, including accounting, accounting analytics, business analytics, finance, MBA, real estate analysis and development, and supply chain management.

Our career services office works individually with every student before they arrive to develop a Personalized Career Strategy (PCS) that is used to guide students and career coaches through the internship and job search process. While many students do try to get internships with the companies they are targeting for full-time employment, other students use the internship more strategically by gaining additional experience in a field before searching for a full-time opportunity in a new industry, exploring a startup opportunity to determine if it is the right fit, or giving back to the community by working for Governmental or Non-Governmental non-profit organizations. Some examples of recent internships taken by our students include opportunities at companies such as Accuweather, Amazon, Apple, CVS Health, Ecolab, Intel, Kimberly-Clark, Merck, Princess Cruise Lines, and VWR Corporation.

Other opportunities

Fellows are eligible to apply for 10 to 20-hour wage payroll positions in the program.

Jobs for alumni

Smeal MBA employment statistics
Students enroll in an MBA program because they are eager to be engaged. They want to learn and contribute on the job. All aspects of the Smeal curriculum focus on four critical thematic areas: Global Perspective, Total Business Focus, Functional Expertise, and Principled Leadership. With this training, MBAs want to tackle challenges that are meaningful to the company or organization.
