Youth Camp 2024

Project by Chan Young Woo, Volunteer from Missouri
Philippines Health and HIV/AIDS Youth

Description

This project aims to organize a successful youth-led campaign through multiple day-camps, offering local youth the chance to learn about teenage pregnancy prevention, adolescent sexual health and education, mental health, and HIV/AIDS prevention. These camps provide a crucial educational opportunity on topics often not covered in schools.

The community will supply facilitators for training, handle their transportation, and recruit youth facilitators. Community members are actively organizing times and locations for these 10-15 youth camps to ensure all local youth can participate. After this grant's completion, the program will be funded by the local government ensuring its longevity. Starting next year, youth facilitators will have a more stable foundation to conduct these campaigns as an officially recognized local youth group.
