The target community of this project is 12 girls between the ages of 14 and 18 residing in the Kakheti region. The project seeks to amplify the girls voices to increase their participation in social schange. As well as raising awareness about community needs through the voice of the girls in Kakheti. There is a lack of opportunity to develop technical and vocational skills that are often necessary for employement.
The phases of the project are a visual imagery workshop that consists of photography and videography lessons. A 1 day training on video marketing and social media. A photography contest where participants will submit photos and 1 video for a contest depicting the stories and life of community’s members, as well as the mission and activities of local NGO's and its tourism social enterprise. Contest entries will be screened and judged. The winning entry will be placed on an NGO's website. We expect that girls of Kakheti will utilize imagery and social media to empower themselves and other marginalized voices. There will be increased participation among girls of Kakheti in their communities’ development. They will become more employable due to skills and leadership building.
