Water in Africa

Africa, Cote D'ivoire

by Lori Duff, Grahipla, Côte d'Ivoire

There is no conservation of water.

by Sarah McElroy, Kamalo, Côte d'Ivoire

Water is not conserved or recycled. However, the people in the village know how to use the least amount of water to do certain activities. For example, the villagers use a small amount of water when washing dishes or doing laundry.

by Amy Bailey, Grand-Bereby, Côte d'Ivoire

As far as I know from the six months I've spent at my site, there are no efforts to conserve water in my community. However, people do, in a way "conserve" the current supply by putting out buckets and any containers they can find to catch rainwater.
