Culture comes into its own in human interactions, and one of the greatest arenas for such interaction is the place where people work. In preceding chapters, you already have considered how culture is going to affect you on the job. Here, you examine the impact of culture on a variety of work-related norms and behaviors, paying particular attention to three dimensions of cultural difference that have special implications for the workplace:

1. the concept of power and power distance;
2. attitudes toward uncertainty and the unknown; and
3. the concept of status.
