I'm helping to water my friend Julie Bednarski's tomato plants. Also growing in the garden are lettuce, celery, eggplant, bell peppers, green onions, beans, and Chinese cabbage, which is a favorite of the Malagasy people. Julie gives each plant about half a cup of water daily and fertilizes her vegetables with cow manure.
