Return to Water in Africa

Abdoulaye Bah is selling djindian batafond, a sweet iced drink made from ginger, for 100 fg a bag, equivalent to 10 cents. As he walks through the streets, he shouts "afanyera," which means "very good" in Soso. Abdoulaye's djindian is made using water from Boké's main river, named Batafond. This river is also the source of Boké's pump water.
