Description

Kyrgyz tortillas with onions

Materials & Procedures

Materials

  1. 3 glasses of flour
  2. 50 gr. of yeast
  3. 1 glass of water
  4. 2-3 pieces of onion
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 100 gr. of oil (for frying-up)

Procedures

  1. Mix the yeast in the warm water, add salt and flour, and make a dough.
  2. Put it in a warm place for one hour.
  3. Dough should be divided into several small pieces.
  4. Roll each piece of dough in a thin layer (as for noodles), flatten the top layer, put fried sliced onions on top and roll it again.
  5. Press it and roll back a layer; the thickness should be one centimeter.
  6. Cut into round cakes and fry them in a pan of fat.
  7. Lepeshkas are served with soup.
