Description

The Fisher International MBA Program at the Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS) offers an International Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree that prepares Peace Corps volunteers for international business development. Students in the two-year MBA program ideally enter during the Fall Semester (August). They complete three semesters of study, including all core required courses and the International Business Plan, prior to leaving for Peace Corps assignment.

Students may also enter the Advanced Entry MBA program, if they meet the appropriate pre-requisites. Advanced Entry students complete at least one full-time semester, and the International Business Plan, prior to leaving for country of service. All MBA students return to Monterey after Peace Corps service for one final semester. The courses at the Monterey Institute prepare students for a Peace Corps assignment working with businesses and development agencies in an advisory capacity. MBA MI students apply their Peace Corps experience to a Business Development Project, a research project which explores a variety of development issues related to their Peace Corps assignment. The Business Development Project is a 3-unit requirement, completed during the final semester of study.

Requirements

GMAT scores; two letters of reference. For Advanced Entry MBA: at least 30 semester credits of prerequisite business study.
