The course work will consist of a minimum of between 32 to 36 semester hours of academic study, depending on the program pursued.
The MI program offers a unique opportunity to prepare for careers in culturally diverse school systems in the US and in international education development. MI students complete one year of coursework in international development and either math, science, or English education before entering Peace Corps service as an Education Volunteer.
Upon completing Peace Corps service, MI students may choose to complete a degree in Sociocultural and International Development Education if they are interested in going on to a career in international development, or complete a degree in English, mathematics, or science education if they prefer a career as a teacher in a school in the United States.
