There are 233 volunteers in Peru working with their communities on projects in health, the environment, youth development, and community economic development. During their service in Peru, volunteers learn to speak local languages, including Spanish and Quechua. More than 3,365 Peace Corps volunteers have served in Peru since the program was established in 1962.
