There are 123 Volunteers in Guatemala working with their communities on projects in agriculture, health, and youth development. During their service in Guatemala, Volunteers learn to speak Spanish and local languages, including Ixil, Kakchiquel, Mam, and Qe’qchí. More than 5,020 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Guatemala since the program was established in 1963.
