Namibia

There are currently 130 Volunteers in Namibia working in the areas of education, health and community economic development. During their service in Namibia, Volunteers learn to speak the local languages, including: Afrikaans, Khoekhoegowab, Damara, Oshikwanyama, Oshindonga, Otijherero, Rukwangali, Silozi and Thimbukusha. More than 1,405 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Namibia since the program was established in 1990.
