Peace Corps suspended its volunteer activities in Mali in December 2015.

During their service in Mali, Volunteers learn to speak local languages, including Bambara, French, Malinke, Minianka, and Senoufou. More than 2,645 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Mali since the program was established in 1971.
