Peace Corps suspended its volunteer activities in Liberia in October 2014.

There are currently 82 Volunteers in Liberia working in education. During their service in Liberia, Volunteers learn to speak the local languages, including: Liberian English, Kpelle, Mano/Gio, Gola, Via and Mano. More than 4,035 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Liberia since the program was established in 1962.
