There are 93 Volunteers in Benin working with their communities on projects in agriculture, community economic development, education, and health. During their service in Benin, Volunteers learn to speak local languages, including Adja, Ani, Bariba, Biali, Boo, Fon, French, Fulfulde Goun, Kotokoli, Lokpa, Mahi, Mina, Nagot, Nyende, Oueme Sahoue, and Yom. More than 2,040 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in Benin since the program was established in 1968.
