Description

The Peace Corps celebrates Women's History Month with the Women's Center at Pacific Lutheran University. Peace Corps Representative and returned Volunteer Brian Minalga presents Project Saraounia, a project conceived in his Peace Corps community that focuses on greater access, advocacy, and equity for gender and development in Niger, West Africa. The Hausa word for "queen," Saraounia recognizes in all women the potential strength, talent, and leadership of queens.  Project Saraounia employs art and creative expression as its primary conduit for women's and girls' empowerment: sculpture, poetry, music, and dance.  Come celebrate Women's History Month with a Project Saraounia slideshow and presentation of its story from Niger to the U.S.
