Description

Serving in the Peace Corps is a great way to immerse yourself in a new culture, learn a new language, and have the experience of a lifetime. Servermont AmeriCorps members please join us at this information session to learn about Volunteer experiences, have your questions answered, and gain tips to guide you through the application process

The Peace Corps is seeking dedicated people to fill thousands of positions around the world. Submit an online application at www.peacecorps.gov/apply to be considered for an assignment departing summer 2014. Serving in the Peace Corps has many professional and personal benefits such as deferment of student loans, free medical and dental care, grad school programs with financial assistance, and two years of international work experience, to name a few.

Considering a career in International Development?  Do you see yourself working overseas for the Government or perhaps a well-known international NGO?  Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of community members?  If you answered yes to any of these questions, you should consider becoming a Peace Corps volunteer after graduation. Today's Peace Corps is working in emerging and essential areas such as sustainable agriculture and microfinance, and contributing to the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.  The application process takes about a year from the day you apply to the time you could potentially go overseas, so NOW is the time to start preparing!

About the Peace Corps: Read more or watch a video about what it's like to be a Volunteer including what Volunteers do, where they go, and the many benefits of Peace Corps service. Or apply now to begin your life-defining experience.
