Travel the world through the eyes of international Volunteers at UAB's Peace Corps Week event. Peace Corps' unique heritage continues to inspire and, since 1961, 210,000+ Americans have served in the Peace Corps, working in 139 countries and making a difference every day.
Attend this special event to hear about Peace Corps Volunteers of the past: A Returned Peace Corps Volunteer, Alabama State Senator Arthur Orr, will speak about his experience as a Peace Corps Volunteer and share how that shaped his current career path. A currently serving Peace Corps Volunteer will speak about her present experience in Guatemala via Skype in real time and be available to answer your questions. We will conclude with a Peace Corps Invitee who will depart to begin his service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Columbia this year. After hearing these inspiring stories Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and Regional Recruiter, Emily Whitfield, will share how you can make Peace Corps a part of your future! Have your questions answered and talk with local Peace Corps staff about the application process.
