Peace Corps is looking for volunteers from a variety of different backgrounds to fill positions in business, health, education, agriculture, the environment, information technology, construction, and community development. Come and learn how your skills can be put to use in the Peace Corps! Peace Corps benefits include medical, dental and housing, as well as a monthly stipend, transportation to and from your host country, graduate study benefits, 24 vacation days a year, and a $7,425 USD readjustment allowance after your 2-year service. Some student loans can be deferred during Peace Corps service. After your 2-year service, former Volunteers receive one year of noncompetitive eligibility for employment in the federal government. Positions are available in all fields. We are especially in need of agronomists, HIV/AIDS professionals, educators, and individuals who can speak French. Put your scarce skills to use overseas! Peace Corps is an international development agency established in 1961 by John F. Kennedy. It was established as, and remains, an independent agency of the federal government. The mission and three goals of Peace Corps are the same after over fifty years.
1. Helping the people of interested countries in meeting their need for trained professional and citizens.
2. Helping promote a better understanding of Americans on the part of the peoples served.
3. Helping promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of all Americans.
The Peace Corps is one of the best experiences you can get after college. It's a great bridge between school and full time work or grad school. Have the adventure of a life time AND greatly enhance your resume. Hiring managers know that Returned Peace Corps Volunteers offer their organizations creativity, leadership, ethics, commitment and resourcefulness.
To be considered for one of these opportunities applications must be submitted on-line at www.peacecorps.gov/apply .
