Special Event: Meet South Florida Returned Volunteers
Everglades National Park
9:00AM to 3:00PM
Homestead, FL 33034
Calling all past, present and future Peace Corps Volunteers (plus family and friends, too)!
NOTE: Registration has closed for this event as we have reached our capacity. Thank you for your interest and please check our website often for other South Florida events.
You are invited to join the Returned Peace Corps Volunteers of South Florida (RPCVSF) for its annual outing at Everglades National Park on Saturday, January 26, from 9 am - 3 pm. Each year, RPCVSF hosts more than 100 children for their first experience at Everglades National Park. The children, most of who are in shelters or programs for disadvantaged youth, are invited to have a fun and educational day in the Park and enjoy a picnic lunch. National Park Rangers and expert naturalists (many of whom are Returned Volunteers) lead the children on a nature walk. Additional volunteers are needed to help with the nature walk and also to prepare and serve the picnic lunch.
RPCVSF encourages those considering Peace Corps service and their friends to volunteer for the outing. Not only is this a great service project, but it is a wonderful way for you to meet local returned volunteers who can tell you about their own experiences overseas.
If you would like to join us, RSVP by clicking the Registration button below. Once you RSVP, we will send additional details to you including directions and the meeting place.
