Description

Make a difference overseas! Stop by Lunch and Learn with SC Peace Corps recruiter Charles Portney to find out more about serving in the Peace Corps. Please feel free to bring your own lunch during this info session!

Since 1961, the Peace Corps has shared with the world America's most precious resource its people. Volunteers serve in over 65 countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, the Pacific Islands and the Middle East.

Peace Corps Volunteers live, learn, and work with a community overseas for 27 months, providing technical assistance in six program areas: education, youth and community development, health, business and information and communications technology, agriculture, and environment.

All expenses are paid for including travel, training, medical, dental, food and housing. In addition there are many benefits such as deferment and or partial cancellation of student loans; scholarships and tuition assistance for graduate school; a year of non-competitive eligibility for Federal jobs.

The best way to know if you qualify for Peace Corps service is to apply.  Submit an online application now  to be considered for programs departing in 2015

About the Peace Corps: Read more or watch a video about how Peace Corps service makes a difference for the communities served, the volunteers themselves, and here in the U.S. Learn what it's like to be a Volunteer, including what Volunteers do, where they go, and the many benefits of Peace Corps service.
