9:30 a.m. Bridging the Us-Them Divide: Using Our Third Goal Powers to Combat Stereotypes and Misperceptions
We have been to all regions of the globe, not as visitors but as neighbors. Peace Corps Volunteers have unique insights and knowledge to share that’s rarely available to the American public. Join the conversation and explore how PCVs and RPCVs can be the cultural lens that shapes a pluralistic and nuanced view of humanity and contributes to deeper understanding and peace.

11:00 a.m. Shaping Our Peace Corps Stories: A Spoken Word Workshop
Hone a Peace Corps story that illuminates your experience with vibrant detail. Learn great tips and tools for finding, crafting, editing, and telling your story. Make peace personal by sharing your experiences in a way that people will connect and remember.

1:30 p.m. Blog It Home Winners: A Showcase by Currently Serving Volunteers
Peace Corps’ first-ever Blog it Home contest identified six stellar bloggers currently serving as Peace Corps Volunteers. Their prize? Round trip airfare to D.C. to participate in the Summit. Get an insider’s look at what these outstanding Volunteers are doing with their blogs to share their experiences as PCVs in Jamaica, Thailand, Mexico and Ethiopia with audiences here at home.

3:15 p.m. Developing Your Third Goal Portfolio
Preparing to share your Peace Corps experience can be daunting. Dust off those slides and put new tools in your Third Goal toolbox! This session will present a variety of ideas and resources tailored to different audiences. Participants will learn creative, engaging strategies for bringing the world home.

As an engaged RPCV, you have the creativity, inspiration, and perspective to help the Peace Corps realize its Third Goal potential. Help us reimagine and reinvigorate Peace Corps Week, Speakers Match, and other Third Goal Programs, and make your unique contribution to elevating the Third Goal.

11:15 a.m. Igniting Cross-Cultural Curiosity through World Wise Schools
World Wise Schools is an amazing resource with an inspiring array of stories, lesson plans, recipes, and through-provoking activities - all drawn from the Peace Corps experience. Explore new ways to integrate these ready-made resources into your own presentations, both inside and outside the classroom.

1:30 p.m. RPCV Groups as Third Goal Multipliers
RPCV groups have incredible potential for Third Goal impact. Come learn what RPCV groups are doing and brainstorm new ideas to harness and multiply our collective efforts to increase Americans’ understanding of the peoples and cultures of the world.

3:00 p.m. Beyond the Peace Corps Bubble: Finding and Connecting With Your Audience
Whether you are interested in writing a letter to the editor, planning a Third Goal activity, arranging a visit to a classroom, or assisting at a recruitment event, this session will help you locate and connect with your audience to help Americans better understand your country of service.
4:00 p.m. Debrief/Wrap Up
