Statement from Acting Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet on the Sexual Assault Advisory Council’s Annual Report

Acting Peace Corps Director Carrie Hessler-Radelet released the following statement about the Sexual Assault Advisory Council’s Annual Report:

“I want to thank the Sexual Assault Advisory Council for their diligent work on their first annual report. Made up of leading experts and professionals, the Advisory Council is uniquely positioned to make a fair and thorough evaluation of the work that Peace Corps has undertaken to date. I appreciate the Advisory Council’s acknowledgement of the significant work Peace Corps has undertaken in an effort to better serve Peace Corps volunteers affected by sexual assault and other crimes. Although there is more to be done, I am proud that the Peace Corps has instituted significant measures to reduce the risks of violence against volunteers and help ensure our volunteers receive the best possible training and support.”
