Pittsfield, Mass. tops the list of metropolitan areas with the highest per-capita number of Peace Corps volunteers. Eleven volunteers are currently serving volunteers are from the Pittsfield area, making it the number ten Peace Corps per-capita volunteer producing metropolitan area in the nation.
According to a press release issued by the Peace Corps, in the Pittsfield region, 8.5 of every 100,000 residents are currently serving as volunteers.
Berkshire County is always well represented in Peace Corps service worldwide, but I am proud that the region is now nationally ranked for its volunteer production said New England Regional Manager Vincent Wickes in a statement.
