Description
Learn about the personal and professional rewards of community outreach and service work through Peace Corps at this National Service Day activity hosted by the Green PLACE Program and the Central Florida Cooperative Invasive Species Management Area.
The third annual Mega Air Potato Raid helps local wild vegetation have a chance at survival as you work to remove the invasive air potato. Learn about the Peace Corps experience first-hand from Returned Peace Corps Volunteers.
The agenda for the morning is as follows:
- Sign in: 7:30 a.m.
- Safety Presentation and Welcome: 8:00 am 8:10am
- Educational Presentation and Project Directions: 8:10am - 8:20 am
- Air Potato Collection: 8:20am 9:45 am
- Clean-up and Prizes: 9:45am -10:00 pm
***Please come prepared with long pants, closed toe shoes, sunscreen, bug repellent, gloves, water bottle, and hat. They will have a water cooler to refill your water bottles on site.
