A Montclair Peace Corps family

The following excerpt comes from The Montclair Times in Montclair, New Jersey, and was originally published on October 26, 2011.

This weeks installment of our Peace Corps series is a double feature. The McKee brothers, Seth and Daniel, are Montclair natives and Montclair High School alumni. They came to our attention when their mother, Theodora McKee, wrote us about her Peace Corps family.

Seth McKee served in the Marshall Islands from 1983 to 1985, and continued to work for the Peace Corps upon his return. His wife, Ellen Butowsky, also served in the Peace Corps, in Honduras. Today Seth works for Scenic Hudson, a nonprofit that works to preserve the river and the lands in the Hudson Valley, and Ellen is a public health social worker.

Daniel McKee, MHS 81, served in Paraguay from 1989 to 1991. He is the high school principal of the International School of Panama. His wife, Monica Darer, is Latin American child rights adviser for Plan International. They live in Panama.
