Princess Party in Pohnpei

The following excerpt comes from CNN iReport and was originally published on April 29, 2011.

Peace Corps volunteers celebrate with the rest of the world, watching the royal wedding in Pohnpei, Federated States of Micronesia.

Corijo and several Peace Corps volunteers dressed in their 'island formal' wear, ate a potluck dinner and watched the royal wedding in Pohnpei, Micronesia.

'Being Peace Corps volunteers there aren't very many global events or news that we are able to keep up with, but we decided this was an event we wanted to be able to watch. We planned a special night to get together to hang out and enjoy a moment of world history,' she said.

'It was the first time most of us have watched TV in over six months, we loved seeing all of the different dresses and hats that people were wearing. We all really enjoyed seeing the wedding, it was exciting to watch something live instead of hearing about it a few days later.'
