Description
The MA program in international political economy and development is a three semester (12 course) program designed to train students for international professional careers. The curriculum offers an advanced interdisciplinary study of global economic relations and international development issues built on a rigorous foundation in economic, political and quantitative analysis. Typically those students who specialize in International Banking and Finance find employment as financial analysts in the private sector. Students specializing in international and development economics frequently find employment as economists and analysts with governmental organizations. And those who specialize in International Development Studies are normally placed as project mangers with international non-profit humanitarian organizations. To gain additional practical experience in managing projects, Fellows will be required to complete project management internships with local community economic development agencies that address the preservation of affordable housing as well as other economic issues facing immigrant and low-income communities in the Bronx.
Requirements
Application which includes a statement of purpose, three letters of recommendation, general aptitude scores on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and transcripts of all previous undergraduate and graduate course work.
