Under an agreement with Peace Corps, students who are accepted into the Duke MPP Program are guaranteed a tuition fellowship:

• For two-year MPP students, the fellowship is a minimum of $14,000 per year, through a combination of a tuition fellowship and payment for community service, teaching, research, or graduate assistantship.
• For our dual-degree programs, students will receive a $12,000 tuition fellowship during their first year of study. They must spend year one in the MPP program before starting the dual-degree curriculum in the law (JD), environment (MEM), or business (MBA) program.

These fellowships are the minimum students will receive. Applicants will receive full consideration for additional, merit-based tuition assistance based on the strength of their application and the overall applicant pool.

Description

The two-year professional MPP program prepares students for leadership roles in various levels of government, non-profit organizations and with corporations both in domestic and international locations. Dual-degrees with Duke or UNC schools are available in law (JD), business (MBA); and Duke environment (MEM). A dual-degree in medicine (MD) is available with Duke's Medical program. The MPP program requires full-time enrollment and most students possess two to six years of post-undergraduate work experience prior to application.

Fellows are required to complete a summer internship (between their first and second year) and a Master?s project.

Requirements

We welcome applicants from a variety of academic and professional?as well as ethnic and cultural?backgrounds. Our selection committee considers academic performance and GRE scores, but also takes a close look at our applicants? statement of purpose, general writing skills, relevant work experience, and faculty and employer evaluations (3 letters of recommendation).
