Description
Areas of study include: natural resources, forestry, forest recreation, international resource management, urban forestry, wildlife, aquatic toxicology, limnology, fisheries, water chemistry, groundwater, resource management, environmental education/interpretation, environmental resources extension programming, land use planning, resource policy and planning, youth programming, soil science and water science. Internships will focus on local capacity building and watershed restoration and management, and will be specific to the Fellow's area of study. The university has partnerships with the following agencies and organizations: USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service; Trout Unlimited, Inc.; USDA Forest Service; The Aldo Leopold Foundation; Wisconsin Center for Environmental Education; and the Stevens Point Area School District.
Requirements
Fellows must meet the admission requirements of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and the College of Natural Resources. Applicants are required to submit the following materials: application, official transcripts, GRE scores, resume of relevant experience, two letters of recommendation, statement of purpose, and a writing sample (i.e. term paper, class paper, or publication).
