Description

Master's International students take a focused curriculum of study including a full 27 month tour of service as a Peace Corps volunteer. Incoming students have the option of pursuing a general Master of Forest Resources (MFR) degree or the more rigorous and professionally accredited Master of Forestry (MF) degree. The choice of masters program would depend on a student’s academic background and their future career goals.The academic component of the International Forestry Master's International program can be completed during 4 academic quarters of study. The first year of study must be completed prior to leaving for Peace Corps service. During their Peace Corps volunteer service, students remain in regular communication with their faculty advisor regarding their research project. Upon the completion of their Peace Corps service, International Forestry Master's International students return to the College of Forest Resources for a final quarter to complete their coursework, prepare their professional paper, and help to mentor the incoming class of International Forestry Master's International students.

Requirements

Students are required to meet both the university admission requirements and the Peace Corps requirements. Participants must complete academic requirements of the program before service.
