Benefits

Students in the program can continue course work during Peace Corps service, and are awarded three to nine credits for the service. Students with Graduate Research Assistantships receive tuition waivers, and other financial support is available. The student's academic experience the Andrew Young School of Policy (AYSPS) will prepare them for a significant array of Peace Corps service, including basic economic research and teaching, taking on leadership positions as managers and program officers, policy specialists with international, governmental, and not-for-profit organizations, urban planners, international journalism, etc.

Description

Georgia State University's Andrew Young School of Policy Studies offers a Master of Arts in Economics and a Master of Arts in Economics- Policy track through the Department of Economics, as well as a Master in Public Administration, and a Master of Public Policy through the Department of Public Management and Policy. The course work consists of a minimum of 33 to 39 semester credit hours of academic study, depending on the program pursued. Students are expected to return to campus at the completion of their Peace Corps service to complete the remainder of their degree requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in any of the social sciences, business, engineering, humanities, or a related field; GRE scores and, if applicable, TOEFL scores; a statement of academic and professional goals; three letters of reference for selected programs.
