Description

The LBJ School of Public Affairs offers the Master's International (MI) program for Peace Corps bound students pursuing one of two fields of study: the Master's of Public Affairs (MPAff) with a specialization in Nonprofit and Philanthropic Studies or the Master's of Global Policy Studies (MGPS) with a specialization in Energy, Environment and Technology.

The School's mission is to develop leaders and ideas that will help our state, the nation and the international community address critical public policy challenges in an ever increasingly interconnected and interdependent world. Drawing upon a world-renown, multidisciplinary faculty, a diverse and talented group of masters and Ph.D. students, and the resources of the University of Texas at Austin, one of the world's leading research universities, the LBJ School is positioned to help shape public policy for the 21st century.

Master in Global Policy Studies (MGPS) with a specialization in Energy, Environment, and Technology:
Students may earn 9 credit hours for Peace Corps service (6 hours of credit towards a policy research project and 3 hours of elective credit). Peace Corps service will also satisfy the LBJ School's internship requirement (zero credits), and, if applicable, service could satisfy the language requirement necessary for graduation (zero credits). The MGPS program consists of 49 credit hours (4 semesters) of academic study.

Master in Public Affairs (MPAff) with a specialization in Nonprofit and Philanthropic Studies:
Students may earn 6 credit hours for Peace Corps service. The MPAff program consists of 48 credit hours (4 semesters) of academic study.
