Description

The College of Forestry and Conservation offers an M.S. degree in Resource Conservation, International Conservation and Development Option for students interested in combining graduate study with Peace Corps service. Students may pursue either a thesis (30 credits) or professional paper (36 credits) option and generally reside on campus for two semesters of coursework prior to service in the Peace Corps and one semester after Peace Corps to complete their degree. The program is designed for students from natural science and liberal arts backgrounds and includes completion of an interdisciplinary core curriculum (14 credits) and additional coursework in a specific area of interest, such as community conservation, watershed management, restoration ecology, protected area management, and social forestry, and completion of an international assignment with the Peace Corps.

Requirements

Admission to ICD requires demonstrated interest in international resource conservation; an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or better; 500 verbal and 600 quantitative GRE scores; and three letters of recommendation.
