Description

Richmond Teacher Residency (RTR) is a post-graduate program in education that recruits RPCVs who are committed to making a difference in urban schools. Fellows spend their first year co-teaching with a master teacher in Richmond Public Schools (RPS) while earning a Master of Teaching (M.T.) degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. In their second year, Fellows are positioned to be hired as a full time middle or high school teacher in RPS, with an additional 3 years of mentoring, leadership training, and support for National Board Certification.

 

Requirements

3.0 GPA in last 60 hours of undergraduate work, a major in biology, chemistry, environmental science, geology, physics, math, English, political science, global studies or history, completed online RTR application, official transcripts from all universities attended, copies of required test scores (see RTR website), and completed VCU Graduate School application.
