The Heller School will waive all application fees for RCPVs. Additionally, all Fellows will receive $10,000 in tuition remission for each year in residency in their selected program. The typical RCPV in a two year program (MBA or MPP) will receive $20,000 spread over four semesters. An RPCV in a one year residency program (MA/SID; MA/COEX; MS) will receive $10,000 in tuition remission aid. One 100% tution scholarship may be awarded to an applicant to the MS program annually. If a dual degree program (MBA-MA/SID or MBA-MPP) resulted in a third year of instruction, the funding award would be extended for the third year at $10,000 for the additional year.
The Master of Public Policy (MPP) program is a traditional two-year, four-semester program and offers concentrations in Health Policy; Behavioral Health Policy; Children, Youth and Family; Aging Policy and Services; Poverty Alleviation; and General Social Policy.
The MBA in Nonprofit Management program is sixteen-month program consisting of four consecutive semesters (Fall, Spring, Summer, Fall.) The MBA offers concentrations in Health Care Management; Social Impact Management; Children, Youth and Family Management; Sustainable Development; and Social Policy and Management.
The MA in Coexistence and Conflict program (which joined the Heller School in 2010) requires one year of full-time academic work before a three-month internship and final paper. MA/COEX applicants are not accepted immediately after completing their undergraduate program, prior international experience is crucial.
The MA in Sustainable International Development program requires one year of full-time academic work before a six to nine-month internship and final paper. All students return to campus to participate in a series of capstone presentations. MA applicants are not accepted immediately after completing their undergraduate program, prior development experience, preferably international, is crucial.
The MS is a one-year program in health policy making and management of health systems in low and middle income countries. Successful applicants include mid-career health professionals who finished their university training 5 to 6 years ago. The program is an extraordinary global community that is rich in diversity and experience in international health and development.
While the Heller School does not offer academic credit for the RPCV’s time in the Peace Corps, this experience is often what has provided the experience required to be admitted to the program.
Applicants are expected to have demonstrated leadership potential, a commitment to social justice, significant work experience and an aptitude for graduate study. Applicants to the MPP program will submit the results of the GRE and applicants to the MBA will submit the results of the GMAT or GRE. Applicants to the MA programs will have at least two or three years of demonstrated experience in development, which may include their Peace Corps service. All applicants will apply electronically at heller.brandeis.edu/admissions.
